Ivan is a super star rescue dog! He was one of the unfortunate puppies
left to fend for themselves during and following a hurricane. He was
brought to my attention by a friend who was concerned
for his well being but unable to have a dog. My intention was to get him
to good health and place him in a good home; he has been with me ever since.
Despite his understandable suspicion of humans and his inability to rest
for more than minutes at a time he managed to grow into a wonderful and well
balanced dog. He is loyal, loving and happy. I can not imagine the trauma
he went through as a 6 week old pup being left exposed with no shelter, food
or water for several days during a very intense and damaging hurricane; and
it amazes me still that he is as happy a dog as I have ever known. Ivan is
also extremely intelligent, he is obedience trained and has some "special
service" training and is responsible for the upbringing and training of new
members that join my pack. He is affectionately referred to as "The Boy".
In the summer of 2008 he had the good fortune of meeting a graduate
film student from FSU that used him in one of the staring roles in her
latest film "Fetch". Ivan's willingness, cooperation and understanding
even impressed me! Without question he happily performed each task that
was presented to him and genuinely seemed to enjoy it all, especially the
attention he received! When asked how he felt about it he responded "Have
your people call my people" and strolled off to check out the local wildlife. I will post some still shots
